Ask Vox is a search engine with a talking host.  In addition to functioning as a typical search engine, you can also type in a question and the avatar will “speak” the answer and also show it in text form.  For example, I typed in the question, “What is the capital of California?”  It correctly  answered, “Sacramento.”  It also allows you to send talking email messages.

It’s great whenever English Language Learners can type or see text along with hearing it pronounced, and my students enjoyed using it today.  I’ve put it under the Search Engines category on my website, along with a number of others that I think are particularly useful to English Language Learners.
