Leading to Reading
Leading To Reading is a new site begun by the Reading is Fundamental organization.
It has some excellent books with images, text and audio, along with songs and expository texts that have similar support. It’s advertised for toddlers and pre-schoolers, but the well-respected WRITE Institute program for English Language Learners use some of the same texts (like Stellaluna) in its excellent high school ESL writing and reading program. We use this program in our school, and I can’t say enough positive comments about it.
I haven’t posted it on my website yet, but I’m probably going to post direct links to the stories, songs, and expository texts in various sections of my English For Beginners page.
