Guess The Place

Posted at 12:23 am under geography

Guess The Place is a game that shows a state, city or country on a map (it also shows some hints).  Then a time gives you a very short time to come up with name of the location.

The questions vary in level of difficulty.  I’d say it’s only accessible to advanced English Language Learners near completion of a Geography class.  It’s blocked by our school’s filters for some reason.  If it wasn’t, I’d probably have students play it in pairs with both having a copy of an atlas with them.

I’ve placed it on my Geography page near the bottom of the Sites That Cover Many Areas section.

I found another interesting website Guess the Place – http://www.guesstheplace.net. The point is to guess the names of the places from images.

That might be interesting for some of you. Have fun.
