Houndbite seems like a great site for English Language Learners to practice speaking.  It’s super-easy to use.

After students log-on (I assume many people can use a teacher’s account — I’ll know for sure when I try it later in the week.  If not, each student can pretty quickly set-up their own) all they do is click “Share,” “record” and then start talking.  They can speak for up to fifteen minutes.

They then title it, write a description, and click “email to a friend” and send the url to a teacher for posting on an online journal or blog.

I’ve placed the link on my Examples of Student Work page under Student Audio Messages.
