Dig Into History is a nicely-done interactive from the University of Chicago which demonstrates how an archeological dig is done in Iraq (I’m assuming this happened pre-war).

It’s accessible to high Beginning English Language Learners.  I’ve placed the link on my World History page under The First Civilized People section.
