TechCrunch posted about MyDeco today.  It joins a number of other web applications (I have links to all of them on my website here) that allow you to design a floor plan for your house, write about it, and then post its url on a blog or website.

MyDeco certainly has more “bells and whistles” than the others and, in fact, gives a 3D view of the rooms you’re designing.  It could be a fun vocabulary reinforcement exercise for English Language Learners though, along with the added features comes a slightly more complicated creation process than the ones at some of the other similar sites.

And, truth be told, unless you were exchanging these room designs with a “sister class” over the Internet, it seems to me just having students create a model with markers and paper would be equally as good as doing it with a Web 2.0 application.
