Boolify

Posted at 7:07 am under search engines

Boolify is a new search engine designed for elementary and middle school students that is accessible to English Language Learners. I think there are others that are more accessible, but this might be a good one to help teach basic search strategies.

You can find the Boolify link, and links to other good ones, under Search Engines on my website.

Thanks to Jane’s E-Learning Pick of the Day for sharing this site.

I shared this site with the librarians on the LM_NET listserve today and heard back from several before the day was out. Everyone was positive and one librarian had used it with a class today when they were searching for “guinea pig” not “guinea fowl” and then reversed it. Great share!

BTW I also posted to LM_NET where I found my wonderful find and put in a good word for your daily website finds!
