Edweek Article On Our School’s Work With English Language Learners

Posted at 3:26 pm under school reform

Education Week today published a story by Mary Ann Zehr about how our school, which this year made it out of Program Improvement Status, works with English Language Learners.  It’s called Hurdles Remain High For English Learners and is an accurate and thoughtful piece.  It covers several important points, including how we focus on developing life-long learners as opposed to teaching to the test.

Mary Ann Zehr also today wrote about her visit to her school in her blog, Learning The Language. As I’ve mentioned in this blog several times, reading Learning The Language is an excellent way to stay up-to-date with policy and research regarding English Language Learners.
