Larry Ferlazzo’s Websites of the Day…

…For Teaching ELL, ESL, & EFL

Viewzi

Viewzi is a new visual search engine. In other words, it shows search results in images instead of just text. This feature is obviously beneficial to English Language Learners.

But Viewzi does much more than this — in fact, there are so many choices of how you want your search results displayed that it could be confusing to students. It’s worth a look, though.

I have a link to Viewzi on my website under Search Engines, along as links to many other search engines that offer similar benefits in a more simple interface.

Thanks to TechCrunch for info on Viewzi.

  1. Larry,The terms of use for blip.tv say no adult material, but I got a very graphic animation when I checked it out. This could pose some risk to younger children.

  2. You may want to check this out for a visual search engine.

    http://beta.searchme.com/

It is in beta mode and appears to have no filter, but it has that very cool look Apple introduced w/ Cover Flow.
