Got Ramps?

Got Ramps? is an online activity from the Smithsonian National Museum of American History where the user simulates being wheelchair-bound in 1955 and in 2005.

Obviously, it’s only a faint resemblance to what the physically disabled actually have to face, but it’s a good exercise to initiate discussions with students about the issue. It’s accessible to Early Intermediate English Language Learners.

I’ve placed the link on my Geography and United States History page under Our Changing Nation.
