I applaud Booglesworld for their resources but I think that we should ALWAYS put a big * beside any handout, match up, axe down another tree resource….

So many of them around and I’m sure in a pinch they are okay for teachers but the goal for all teachers should be something a little different. IMO – the highest goal is user generated content . Just give a blank wordfind and worksheet to students and let them “make it”!

Besides that, let them use technology. why not use “last one standing” as a game/ listening activity? just write down the main vocab words of any song, have the students choose one of the main brainstormed words. They write it on a large piece of paper, hold it up and then listen. If they hear their word they sit down. Hear it again, stand up. Last one standing wins. Really fun and also play in groups. Only scrap paper necessary!

You can also use our vast amount of Halloween resources at EFL Classroom 2.o. all decidedly paperless ( for we don’t carry paper handouts when we walk around outside and speak English!).
