I highly rated The Discovery Channel game Life Or Death: In The Jungle in The Best Online Learning Games — 2008. Blog readers then actually voted it the number one game of the year.

In the game, your plane has crashed on a jungle island and you have escape. It’s sort of like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” game.

I just discovered that there are two other games in the series: Life or Death: Snow Survival and Life or Death: Lost At Sea.

In addition to animations, all the choices players have to make are text-based, so there are good language-learning opportunities.

I’ve added both of these new games to my website under Word and Video Games.
