Mrs. P. com is a new site where users can have a delightful woman read children’s stories.
It’s a little tricky to navigate, but after teachers help students once they’ll get the hang of it.
The bigger issue for English Language Learners is that the “show the words” option doesn’t appear to be working right now, so users can only listen to the stories and not see the words as they are spoken. Once that feature is activated, this should be a nice resource for Early Intermediate English Language Learners. (It does appear to be working. See this comment for instructions).
I’ll place the link in my Stories section when they have that working.
Thanks to Teachers First for the tip.
Dear Larry,
Thank you so much for visiting my new website! We’ve had more visitors to my Magic Library than I’d ever imagined, and the kind things people are saying make me blush (as if I weren’t red enough already!)
I’m sorry you had difficulty with the “Show the Words” option on my site. I checked to see if it was working today (as did Mark, my webmaster and Harley mechanic), and it appeared to be bubbling along nicely. Please try it again, if you get the chance. Be sure, after clicking “Show the words” on the Options bookmark, that you click “Done.” Also, please be aware that the words do not start to appear on-screen until AFTER I finish my personal introduction and begin reading the story itself.
I hope this helps, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you are still having trouble. This is an important feature in my Library, and if it’s not working, I will certainly crack the whip! (Don’t worry, it’s made of licorice, and my employees just wind up eating it.)
Be Good!
Mrs. P
