50 States shows you a satellite image of the United States, and then you have to place outlines of each state in the correct place. If you do one incorrectly, it will show you the correct spot and tell you by how many miles you were “off.”
I’ve placed the link on my website under The United States and Canada.
Larry,
I love your blog. It feed into my iGoogle home page so hardly a day goes by that I don’t tune in. So I have one itsy bitty request. Would it be possible for you to qualify the sites you suggest by letting us know if they contain commercial content? Just a thought. I get all excited about some sites, like this one and it takes me to Venus Arcade… Thanks for your consideration and keep up your amazing content!
Kathy,
Excellent idea!
I’ve got quite a few posts already scheduled that I probably won’t have time to review, but I’ll certainly make it more explicit in ones I write from now on.
Unfortunately, it’s a safe bet that the vast majority of online games I would use for learning do have a lot of commercial content.
Larry
I love the “50 States” game, but it will probably not make it past school blocks because of the sexual ads that accompany it. Are they always there?
