I’ve written about the genre of “Escape The Room” online video games before. In these point-and-click activities, players are stuck somewhere; have to find objects (often in a certain) order; and then use them to…escape the room. The best ones show text when players click on the different objects — either describing what they are or giving other instructions.

I have many of these games, and their “walkthroughs” (instructions on how to win the game) on my website under Word and Video Games. Used together, these are excellent language-development opportunities for English Language Learners. You can see images of my students working in groups on these games here.
