David Deubelbeiss has posted a very good document for ESL/EFL teachers sharing ideas for listening activities to do in the classroom.
Even thought it’s for teachers, it’s so good that I’m adding it to The Best Listening Sites For English Language Learners.
Larry,
As always, thanks for the kind words and reference. I really believe strongly in this – the dearth of the actual teaching of listening skills. Myself included!
Teachers gain proficiency I think, not through the bits and pieces of knowledge but by gaining insight and competency of the use of schema…. the schema I present for listening, can be dropped upon any content and can unlock student passivity.
I’d also offer up to anyone my own hundreds of lessons with links/downloads. We now have a public directory of Lessons in a Can at http://eflclassroom.com/lessonsinacan.html
Cheers,
David
