Matisse For Kids

Posted at 12:49 am under music and art

Matisse For Kids is an online interactive from the Baltimore Museum of Art.

It’s accessible to Intermediate English Language Learners and, even though it doesn’t have audio support, is a very engaging guide to artist Henri Matisse’s work and art in general.

I’ve placed the link on my website under Music and Art.

    Dear Larry:
I love this resource. You’re right it’s for Intermediate learners and it’s got much technical vocabulary.
But it’s a fantastic resource to learn by playing. Kids can explore Matisse’s paintings in a funny way and new words are very clearly explained.
They can learn a bit of French , too. Activities are short enough to keep kids interested and they’re linked to connect pictures and the way Matisse thought ART . Finally they can make their own masterpiece. It’s a good excuse to summarize the whole lesson.

    Thanks Larry !!!
