Challenge.gov Could Be A Useful Site For Teachers

Challenge.gov posts government-sponsored “contests” for adults and kids that are designed to elicit ideas on how to solve various problems.

Here are a few examples from the site:

Make a “How Do I Become President” infographic for distribution to schools around the U.S.

Write about how you’ve used government information in your life and have your story posted on GovGab

Educators are asked to identify and solve education’s most pressing classroom problems.

Teachers might find some decent projects for students to do….

  1. Thanks for promoting our GovGab contest! We’re excited to hear from non-govvies.

I like your site and will pass it along to my teacher-friends. You seem like a really cool teacher – I loved the “what I do the first day of school” post. I also like the comments you get from your readers – you can tell it’s an active community of people sharing great ideas.

BTW, we have two Federal sites that might interest you: http://www.kids.gov has a whole educators’ section and http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/teachers has free resources for teachers.
