Thanks to Flowing Data for the tip.
I’m adding the link to The Best Sites For Learning About Nutrition & Food Safety.
So, in the 1980’s the “average” BMI of Ethiopia, Eritrea, the Sudan, and Bangladesh was well within “normal”. Wow, talk about a flawed view of what is healthy for human beings.
Anyone remember hearing about cataclysmic famines …Monsoons (Bangladesh)…AIDS…Malaria…Cholera…genocide and civil war creating millions of refugees starving to death in camps while humanitarian aid was being redirected by war lords and “freedom fighters”? Interesting too…looking at what happens to the line for Rwanda in 1994 and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the 90’s….what genocide does to the data on men and women. How should that be interpreted? I think there’s a lot more here than nutrition and food safety that invites discussion.
