Renowned ESL/EFL teacher, researcher and author Paul Nation is particularly known for his work on teaching vocabulary to English Language Learners.
Just by chance I found a site where it seems he’s giving an online course on Teaching ESL/EFL Vocabulary. As far as I can tell, it’s free and open to anyone — if someone knows differently, please let me know.
It’s just started, so it may be a great learning opportunity.

It appears to be free – well so far anyway. Good starting place for new teachers and a great review for the rest of us. Great supplementary resources! Thanks Larry (and thanks Mr. Nation.)

Hi there,
I’m not sure it’s free. It looks like you can review the first lesson but you have to pay $95 to take the course at a nearby college. That way you get the full course and the certificate. I could be mistaken. Has anybody else investigated this?

I agree with Shari. I’ve managed to do the pre test, lesson 1 and quiz 1 but can’t get any further. It’s excellent material.

It is certainly paid for. Has anyone taken this course? Is it as good as it looks?
