The logic of high-stakes testing of children would have us believe that one must fatten a pig by weighing it. I KNOW…crazy thinking, isn’t it? Children need to be fed, to wander, to wonder, to get dirty, grow in just the right environment to learn about themselves and the world around them. Instead, we are asked to stake all importance on unreliable high-stakes testing to validate us teachers and the credibility of the learner. Pah-leeze!
