As regular readers know, this year I’ve been teaching United States History to English Language Learners. I have completely overhauled and updated my class blog from three years ago, and now have a pretty complete blog with resources and assignments spanning the past three hundred years.
For now, the activities are only visible up to World War II, but I’ll be posting the rest of the resources between now and the end of the year.
You’re more than welcome to use the resources on the blog, including many of my own assignments (especially during in the earlier portions of the blog). I just ask that you use the downloadable lessons only with your students and not distribute them elsewhere. Of course, the online activities are also free for anyone to use.
I hope you find it helpful.
Larry,
Thanks for the great ideas for the history class. I like the embedded video concept for the very fact that the students can watch them on their own which does not consume valuable class time. I have always struggled with this as to how to expose students to more than what is generally taught in class. I immediately went to the History Channel and found the videos that would correspond with the upcoming Civil War unit and the topics that usually generate questions from students. Your work is greatly appreciated.
Glad you found it helpful!
