Here are my choices for The Best Online Videos Showing Teachers In The Classroom:

Here is why this list is so different from previous ones. The New York Times has just written an excellent piece describing, and linking to, all the sites that I would have included here. So, I figured, why re-invent the wheel? Just go over to Videos of Top Teachers Explaining Their Craft.

By the way, I’m a little suspicious (and my suspicion might be totally unwarranted) of the first video featured, which comes from the Washington, D.C. school district. Admittedly, if you have a good relationship with your students, as that teacher obviously does, they are going to really do their best when they’re getting videotaped. However, that class seems like a pretty small one, with far fewer boys than girls. I hope that most of the videos that district is producing show class make-ups that are much more common….

Additional suggestions are welcome.
