Thanks to the efforts of educators around the United States, and because of the work done by Steve Dembo from Discovery Education, the Discovery Channel has immediately canceled its insulting program “Bad Teachers” (see Discovery Network Launches Absolutely Awful Show On “Bad Teachers”).

See that earlier post to learn how truly awful the show was. If that doesn’t give you enough info, you can read the comments at this Discovery Ed blog post yesterday.

More importantly, though, you should read Steve’s post today announcing the show’s immediate cancellation.

Congratulations to Discovery Communications for seeing the error of their ways….

  1. Thanks for posting this. But just to clarify, I’m the messenger. The credit belongs to Discovery leadership who took the concerns raised by educators like you to heart and made the decision to pull the program from air. It’s that sort of leadership that makes Discovery a company I am very proud to work for.

  2. In a time where teachers are being attacked on so many levels, I really appreciate this! Thanks, Steve, for bringing this to the forefront and Larry for reporting this!
