I’ve previously posted about my plans (including student instructions) to have students in all my classes create different forms of Instagram videos as part of their finals (see Using Instagram, Bloom’s Taxonomy & Student Interest As A Fun Part Of A Semester Final). It’s just the latest experiment that I’m trying-out this year using Vine or Instagram (see The Best Resources For Learning To Use The Video Apps “Vine” & Instagram).
The experiments have begun! I’m not quite sure if I’m going to have time to do them in all of my classes, but students in at least my ELL Geography class and my Theory of Knowledge course will definitely be doing them.
We started this week in Geography. Two students have completed them, and the rest will film on Tuesday.
In addition to the written instructions and teacher model I shared in my previous post, I also had students first complete a storyboard using this framework:
The explanation, planning, research and filming for the entire class will probably end up taking about two-and-half-to-three class periods.
Here are a few samples, and you’ll be able to see about forty or fifty of them by Wednesday at our class blog.
