I’ve written and shared a lot about my thoughts and experiences around effective use of videotaping educators teaching, including my critique of how the Gates Foundation is pushing it (see The Best Posts & Articles About Videotaping Teachers In The Classroom).

In fact, I still think Videotaping teachers the right way (not the Gates way), a guest column I wrote that appeared in the Washington Post, might be the best piece I’ve ever written.

Today, Doug Lemov shared an article from Chalkbeat New York talking about teachers using video to help them improve their practice, and it’s not part of any formal evaluation process.
