The Harvard Business Review has become one of the best sources of classroom management strategies, and I’ve written about many of them.

Today, they published another useful piece, this one headlined Outsmart Your Next Angry Outburst.

Here are four simple questions they suggest we ask ourselves prior to communicating something that could go sideways on us:

What outcome do I want?

What should I communicate to achieve that outcome?

How should I communicate to achieve that outcome?

When should I communicate to achieve that outcome?

In fact, that sounds like good advice for in-and-out of a classroom!
