Next February, this blog will be celebrating its ten-year anniversary! Leading up to it, I’m re-starting a series I tried to do in the past called “A Look Back.” Each week, I’ll be re-posting a few of my favorite posts from the past ten years.
Back in 2008, I published a post headlined Incredible Website Launches Today!
It was about U.S.A. Learns, which was – and continues to be – one of the best free sites around for learning English.
In fact, it unveiled a completely redesigned site and significant upgrades earlier this year, and I published an interviewed about them with its manager (see Top-Notch English Site, USA Learns, Unveils Rebuilt Version).
It’s great for students, and teachers can easily create free virtual classrooms.
USA Learns is also on my “All-Time” Best Web Tools For English Language Learners list.
Coincidentally, the site is based in my own backyard – it’s a joint effort of the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE), Internet and Media Services Department and the Project IDEAL Support Center at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research.
