It was a great Super Bowl, but the car commercial featuring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was truly offensive. You can read what others think of it here (scroll down a little).
And it offers a great opportunity for students examine his The Drum Major Instinct speech, which actually condemns how advertisers manipulate people to buy cars and products.

Glad you shared this. I think this connects with the text book images of slavery from the beginning to the 70’s… but also anytime modern day man tries to co-opt those who stood against their ideas. Sabotage.
