At the faculty meeting today, our principal, Jim Peterson, shared three simple phrases/instructions that teachers can use to maximize student engagement. He gave me permission to publish this image of him and the phrases (along with combinations of the three).  The “write a minimum…” can refer to sentences or words.

They support an instructional concept that he calls TAPN, which he wrote about at my Education Week Teacher column.
