I’ve been very pleased with the results of emphasizing the growth mindset in my classes and at our school.

Today, a paper was published in the journal Nature discussing the results of the largest school-based experiment of the idea, and they found positive results.

I posted about the study last year when temporarily published it and invited comments.  I’m not absolutely sure, but it doesn’t appear to have substantial changes, so I’d encourage you to read my previous post, Results Just Unveiled Of Big New Growth Mindset Study Co-Authored By A Ton Of Well-Known SEL Researchers.

One key point that is important to highlight is that it’s particularly effective when it’s part of a school’s culture, which is why having a school wide Social Emotional Learning initiative like we have at Burbank High School is one of our priorities.
