Google made two big announcements today.

I don’t think I can give an accurate description of Assignments, which is why I’ll just link to some other articles and embed a video about it below. It seems to me possibly like a way to assign and grade work if you don’t want to go through the trouble of creating a Google Classroom (it connects to your Google Drive and Docs) but, again, I might be totally mischaracterizing it. I’m wondering, for example, since I only have a few key assignments in my IB Theory of Knowledge classes, and I usually just have students share them with me, if Assignments might be worth me using, instead?

Here is an article about it (the video is embedded at the end of this post):

Assignments is from Google.

Originality Reports is the other new tool. It’s a plagiarism checker and also double-checks on citations. It is automatically part of Google Classroom, and it is also part of the new Assignments tool.
