The New York Times Learning Network has provided top notch teacher and student resources for years (and I’m not just saying that because I wrote about teaching English Language Learners for them – see All My NY Times Posts For English Language Learners – Linked With Descriptions).

In the past month along, they’ve unveiled some great new resources (see NY TIMES LEARNING NETWORK UNVEILS “A FREE SCHOOL-YEAR CURRICULUM IN 7 UNITS”  and NY TIMES LEARNING NETWORK ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR AMAZING STUDENT CONTESTS).

Today, the announced yet another great feature: Introducing a New Feature: Mentor Texts.

As many readers probably know, the mentor texts are pieces of fiction or nonfiction that can be used to teacher certain literary conventions or styles.

You can see all of the mentor text lessons from The Times here, and they’ll obviously be adding to them.

I’m adding it to Best Posts On Writing Instruction.
