Good Guide rates tens of thousands of personal products on their company’s health, environmental and social performance. You just search for the products you use, click on it, and get its Good Guide ratings. You can also find a fairly simple description of the criteria they use to judge the product.

Much of the site is quite accessible to English Language Learners. Having students investigate the ratings of the products they personally use is pretty darn relevant to their lives, and its a “real world” opportunity to learn vocabulary and to develop higher order thinking skills — what do they think about the criteria used to judge them?; Does it make sense?; What criteria would they use?

I’m going to place the link somewhere on my Intermediate English Themes page.

Thanks to Webware for the tip.
