The Wall Street Journal today reported that the FCC will consider a plan in December to offer free wireless Internet service to everyone living in the United States. The service would be required to filter out porn and “and other material not suitable for children.”

I have no idea at all what the chances of this going through are, and certainly have concerns about who would be determining what is and what is not “suitable for children.” It is, though, the first time I’ve heard of something like this as even a possibility, and again, depending on how it’s handled, it could offer an extraordinarily opportunity for many of our students.

What do you think?
