I was reminded by Nergiz Kern (who, by the way, has been nominated in the Best New Blog category of The Edublog Awards) of the Muslim Hajj, which begins this week.

Here are some resources about it:

CBBC Newsround has a simple explanation.

The Washington Post has a short article and slideshow.

Channel 4 in the UK has a substantial site on the Hajj, including several slideshows.

Also, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe happens on December 12th.  Here are some accessible resources about it:

A short article (with audio support for the text) and slideshow from Minnesota Public Radio.

An audio slideshow from a Texas newspaper.

An article and slideshow of the Basilica de Guadalupe in Mexico City.

And one last slideshow of images from various celebrations.

I’ll be placing these links on my website under Holidays.
