Richard Byne shared a tutorial on how to use SchoolTube to access YouTube videos. In addition to reading the very useful tutorial, it would be important to go to Richard’s blog and read the caution he shares.
I’m adding the links to The Best Ways To Access Educational YouTube Videos At School.
I love YouTube. I don’t have a block on it at my current workplace. Just today my students (yes, my students!) showed me a really great video with a song about cellular respiration (we just took the test over it earlier this week). They found it on their own, no prompting from me, not part of an assignment, etc.
Larry,
Thank you for plug. I should point out to your readers that the tutorial was created by Julie Greller who sent it to me.

I wrote the tutorial on accessing YouTube videos through SchoolTube, and have spoken to the folks at SchoolTube about the legalities of using the videos. I was told that it is 100% ok because anyone who has uploaded to YouTube needs to give permission for their videos to be shared, downloaded etc. He said that SchoolTube would not allow this if it wasn’t legal.
Thank you for sharing my tutorial on your site.
