I had published this post a few hours ago, and then it mysteriously disappeared. So I’m trying it again.
I’m trying to “beef-up” my The Best Ways To Keep-Up With Current ELL/ESL/EFL News & Research list, and wanted to ask readers of this blog if you have any suggestions. If you do, please leave them in the comments section.
At the same time, I’m making this additions:
EFL/ESL Articles & Research Papers from The Internet TESL Journal
Thanks!
Is ERIC (http://www.eric.ed.gov/) on your list?
Benjamin,
No, but it should be. Thanks for the suggestion.
Larry
Sorry about my knowledge about this, but what do you mean by “ESL/EFL Research”?
Research on best practices in teaching English As A Second Language or English as A Foreign Language.
Larry
Thanks for posting this. I am planning on doing some heavy research this summer, so I will have to check out each of these sources.
I find it rather frustrating when I find a good article and the website wants like $30 to let me view it. This wasn’t a problem during undergrad and grad school when the school paid for subscriptions to those services, but as an individual conducting voluntary research I would quickly bankrupt myself if I were to pay for every single article I read during the research process.
How do you deal with this sort of thing? I certainly don’t want to just not read an article that could be key to the subject being researched, but I don’t have much cash to spare. (Maybe this question would be a good topic to discuss in your new column you recently announced.)
Chris,
I, too, have experienced similar frustrations. I’d love to hear from readers if they have any good ideas on how to deal with the problem.
