Sarah D. Sparks over at Education has just posted a short summary of a series of new papers on Student Motivation: An Overlooked Piece of School Reform.

I just took a quick look at the summary and, though I’m not sure if there’s anything really new in them, it definitely does look like they’re worth reading. They’re from the Center on Education Policy, and it’s probably just another commentary on my ignorance that this is the first time I’ve heard of it.

Though a fair amount of the word use in the summary doesn’t seem to emphasize the idea of helping students motivate themselves, practically speaking much of what they are saying is in that vein.

I’ll write another post about after I get through reading them if I find anything new…
