NOTE: Be sure to look in the comments for more great suggestions!
There are quite a few very good ways for ESL/EFL/ELL teachers to get online professional development.
I’ve already shared some of those ways in previous “The Best…” lists, including:
The Best Ways ESL/EFL/ELL Teachers Can Develop Personal Learning Networks
The Best Online Videos Showing ESL/EFL Teachers In The Classroom
The Best Videos For Content Teachers With ELLs In Their Classes – Please Suggest More (including videos of our students presenting at professional development sessions)

Here are four other resources that are worth considering and, if you know of others, please let me know:
The Electronic Village Online is the annual online professional development series done in conjunction with the TESOL Convention.
The International Teacher Development Institute is a new project that I have written about previously and looks pretty impressive.
The American TESOL Institute has free Friday Webinars.
Here’s an explanation of professional development opportunities from the British Council which offers a wealth of language-teaching research and online professional development.
EFL Talks has lots of useful videos for ELL teachers.

Hi Larry,
Thank you so much for the valuable information you put in your blog. I personally follow all updates via twitter. I’m a high school teacher in Morocco.
You may have a look at my website here: http://www.englishcounselor.com
Hello Larry, thank you for this useful post. I would highly recommend all the ones you listed and add the following.
The British Council also run webinars which are recorded

As do most of the major publishers in the field
Oxford, Cambridge and Macmillan
elt.oup.com/feature/global/webinars/?cc=global&selLanguage=en
cet-qa.cambridge.org/webinar-list
http://www.macmillanenglish.com/BlankTemplate.aspx?id=43108
Also Rob Plevin runs webinars (and courses) on various aspects of teaching, specialising in classroom management problems. Really nice guy and webinars getting heavily subscribed!

Note the webinars are free to attend and free to watch for a few days after, then you have to pay!
Most of the webinars I have listed are given by experts in their field and some very well-known names. Of course most of them have books to sell too!
Bob,
Great suggestions — thanks!
Larry
Hey Larry,
Great posting – you’ve got some really useful information in here! I did my TESOL Certificate with UNI-Prep Institute and would recommend them. There are pros and cons with them, but the price was really affordable for me:

A place that I would also recommend for finding ESL teaching jobs is ESL Jobs Lounge. They have thousands of posts:

Feel free to contact me if you have questions about my experience.
Hey Larry,
thank you so much for your information. The post might be a bit outdated by now but it was still very helpful for me. Thanks a lot.
Also, I recommend http://www.esljobsforu.com to anyone who is looking for an ESL teaching job. They have a great article about the highest paying countries as an ESL teachers as well.
