Teach Your Monster To Read is a free online site from the United Kingdom that lets teachers create virtual classrooms so that students can easily log-in and participate in fun exercises that are designed to help them learn to read.

It’s been around for a while now, but I haven’t posted about it because it clearly isn’t designed for English Language Learners. Instead, it seems specifically designed for young children who are native English speakers and who are learning to read.

There’s obviously nothing wrong with that, of course, and since they announced a number of small, but useful, improvements today, I thought I’d post about the site and add it to The Best Sites That Students Can Use Independently And Let Teachers Check On Progress.

The improvements were announced in an email that didn’t have an online link, so the best way to learn about them is at a post published earlier today in Richard Byrne’s blog.
