showbox

ShowBox is a neat new online tool that lets you create videos using your own images or images (and there are many) that you can search via the site.

It’s very easy to use and, with a little practice, I can see how it would be possible to make very professional-looking clips. The only concern I have for student use is that it doesn’t appear – though I might be wrong – that it’s possible to use without including a segment recorded with one’s webcam. Again, I might have missed that option. Obviously, since many school computers don’t have webcams, that would preclude ShowBox’s use in schools.

You still have to request an invitation to join it, though I suspect they’ll be opening it up to everybody soon.

I’ve embedded below a sample video I made in about two minutes.

I’m adding this post to The Best Ways For Students To Create Online Videos (Using Someone Else’s Content).
