Using The “Green Eggs and Ham hypothesis” To Help Students Develop Creativity was one of my post popular posts last month. In it, I discussed the constraints principle, a strategy designed to promote creativity by putting artificial limitations on a project.

Coincidentally, one of my favorite writers, Robert Krulwich (see my previous posts about his work) just published a post about the same topic, Stravinsky’s Secret and the Art of Saying No.

Among other neat ideas using this strategy, he shares these two videos illustrating examples. While I was reading his post, it also got me thinking about Found Poems as another way to use this principle.

Let me know if have other suggestions for the classroom.

I’m adding this post to The Best Sources Of Advice On Helping Students Strengthen & Develop Their Creativity.
