In case you’re interested, I thought I’d share what books are on my summer reading list. Of course, it’s likely to expand. For now, it’s light on teaching and heavy on bubblegum for the brain. Feel free to share your list in the comments section – if enough people share, I’ll combine them all in a post:

Education Books

The Genius Hour Guidebook
by Denise Krebs and Gallit Zvi – looking forward to expanding my toolbox on student choice

Learning That Lasts by Ron Berger, Libby Woodfin and Anne Vilen – you can’t go wrong with EL Education folks

The Classes They Remember: Using Role-Plays To Bring Social Studies and English To Life by David Sherrin – intrigued about how I might be able to liven up my classes a little bit more

Bubblegum For The Brain Books

The Trojan Icon by William Dietrich – I really enjoy this series about fictional historic adventurer Ethan Gage

The 14th Colony
by Steve Berry – another fun fictional series, this one featuring ex-government agent Cotton Malone

Beyond The Ice Limit by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child – their latest in their Gideon Crew series, a fictional investigator/adventurer (you can see a pattern here – I enjoy series)

Surrender, New York: A Novel by Caleb Carr – the latest by the author of The Alienist

Fallout: The Hot War (Hot War, The)
by Harry Turtledove – I enjoy alternate history novels (and even hope to write one myself someday). Harry Turtledove is probably the most well-known author in that genre, but this series is probably the most depressing books he’s ever written.

That’s my list — now, what’s on yours?
