We’re beginning our IB Theory of Knowledge Oral Presentations this week, and this is a video of Michelle’s presentation.
She’s given me permission to share it here.
I’m giving her a 7 on the (in my opinion) somewhat weird IB Presentation Rubric.
What do you think? (by the way, you can find all our class materials on the Oral Presentation, including many other videos, here).
Hi, Larry, I hope you don’t mind that I used this material as the basis of a lesson to get my students to engage with the presentation creation and scoring process. First, I had them reconstruct the outline of the presentation by completing your blank planning document while viewing the video. Then they applied the assessment instrument to the actual transcript to justify why it was scored a 7, and what could have been done to score higher. This provided a solid foundation for a very interesting debriefing discussion. Thanks
Hi, Joe, what a cool idea! I hope it pays off with some great presentations for them and for you!
