California is developing new English language proficiency assessments called the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California, or ELPAC, which will be administered for the first time in spring 2018. Those interested in finding out more about the new assessments can sign up to receive the California Department of Education’s new monthly “ELPAC Updates,” which include information on upcoming fall trainings and opportunities for educators to be involved in the test design and pilot process in 2017–18.
