Anthony Schmidt has written two important posts about written corrective feedback for ELLs: Written Feedback – Does it Work? – Part 1 and Written Feedback – Does it Work? – Part 2. I’m adding them to The Best Resources On ESL/EFL/ELL Error Correction.

Second-Language Learners’ Vocabulary and Oral Language Development is from The International Literacy Association and was written by Jana Echevarria, California State University, Long Beach and Claude Goldenberg, Stanford University.

Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld shared these useful resources about the English-learning challenges of particular language-speakers:

Here’s the new website of the @EllChat_BkClub

The Human Brain is a “word association” site – type in a word and it will show you its most common associations. The interface is very clean and accessible. It would be a great tool for ELLs to use for identifying synonyms EXCEPT that it also always seems to have a few “associations” in its results (type in “mad” and you’ll also get “magazine). For that reason, you’re better off with the options listed at The Best Reference Websites For English Language Learners.
