The National Center For Education Statistics has just released Digest of Education Statistics, 2017.
This free annual report contains every education statistic imaginable.
I thought I’d highlight some stats specifically related to English Language Learners:
English language learner (ELL) students enrolled in public elementary and secondary schools, by state: Selected years, fall 2000 through fall 2015
English language learner (ELL) students enrolled in public elementary and secondary schools, by grade, home language, and selected student characteristics: Selected years, 2008-09 through fall 2015
High school completion rate of 18- to 24-year-olds not enrolled in high school (status completion rate), by English speaking ability and race/ethnicity: 2003, 2005, and 2013
Percentage of high school dropouts among persons 16 to 24 years old (status dropout rate), by English speaking ability and race/ethnicity: 2003, 2005, and 2013
By the way, in a different and earlier report, the Center published a nice map, English Language Learners in Public Schools.
