PERTS (Project for Education Research that Scales) is comprised of just about every major researcher doing work on Social Emotional Learning.

They offer two free online programs for teachers to use with students – one to measure and encourage student engagement, and the other to do the same with developing a growth mindset.

I’m not that familiar with the student engagement effort, but it looks pretty interesting and useful.

The growth mindset intervention focuses on two thirty-minute modules, which I assume (though can’t be positive) are the same or similar to the ones used in a big study released last year (see Results Just Unveiled Of Big New Growth Mindset Study Co-Authored By A Ton Of Well-Known SEL Researchers).

That big study was withdrawn for revision, but you can still find it online if you search for its title.

I’ll be talking with our administrators about exploring using both next year at our school.
