Yesterday, two major companies announced that they would provide free Internet access to low-income families.

That’s great, but of questionable value now that schools are closed and it’s difficult for teachers to communicate with students who don’t have Internet access already.

Comcast Announces Comprehensive COVID-19 Response to Help Keep Americans Connected to the Internet is from Comcast, and is geared towards all low-income families, not just those with students.

Spectrum is the other company, and the offer targets students: Spectrum to offer free internet access for students due to coronavirus
